Aurecon South Africa was appointed by responsAbility Renewable Energy Holding as the main consultant to conduct a Bankable Feasibility Study (BFS), Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) for Simu HPP. Aurecon further subcontracted Proess to carry out the EIA and RAP studies for the proposed Simu HPP in compliance with the Ugandan legislation and International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standards and other Performance Standards (PS) or published guidelines.

The studies conducted for Simu HPP include socio-economic baseline, air & noise assessment, aquatic ecology baseline, environmental flow study, biodiversity studies (flora and fauna assessment), archaeological studies, geotechnical investigations and cadastral survey of affected land.
